Children's Ministries - Grade Six and Under
Sunday School -
Our Sunday School program provides a loving and accepting atmosphere in which we teach children God's Word in age appropriate levels. Our goal is to assist parents in teaching Biblical truths to their children, so they can grasp the comprehensive and holistic message of the Bible. It is our prayer that each child accepts God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, and grows daily in his or her relationship with Him.
Sunday School is from 9:45-10:45 a.m. each Sunday. There are separate Sunday School classes for Ages 2-3, Pre-K & Kindergarten, Grades 1 thru 3, and Grades 4 thru 6. Classes meet in the sanctuary (except for ages 2-3 meet in south hall, west end classroom) for opening songs, offering and recognition of birthdays. All classes study the same scripture and there is a Parent-Family Devotion guide in the church bulletin for parents to reinforce the children's Bible lesson each week at home.
Nursery –
A nursery for infants and toddlers through age 2 is always provided for both Sunday morning worship services, as well as during the Sunday School hour. A nursery is also oftentimes provided for special events, being well staffed with caring, responsible adults, providing clean toys and cribs. Our nursery is currently being remodeled so a temporary nursery is in the south hallway across from the restrooms.
Children’s Church –
Halfway through the 11:00am Sunday worship service, children ages 2-7 are dismissed to attend Children’s Church. This allows the young children to be with their parents and family during the praise and worship time of the service, and then to be dismissed during the Bible preaching time. There are two classes for Children’s Church: One for ages 2-4, another for ages 5-7.
At Children’s Church, the children will sing songs, hear a Bible lesson, with activities and/or crafts. The Bible lesson will be the same scripture lesson as in Sunday School that week with different activities to reinforce what they have learned and also allow parents to reinforce during the week what the child(ren) have learned using the Parent-Family Devotion guide found in the church bulletin.
VBS –
Vacation Bible School is held annually in early June for one week. Bible teaching, crafts, singing, games and snacks are centered around a Bible theme to make for a fun and exciting week of growing in Jesus Christ.
